Jessica Walsh biography
I wrote and designed a biography about one of my favorite designers, Jessica Walsh. I wanted to capture the energy of Walsh's work with graphic illustrations and bold colors inspired by her campaigns.
design choice
I used Futera for the heading font because of its geometric nature and juxtaposed it with the more traditional san-serif font, Baskerville. These fonts pair nicely because Futura and Baskerville have a similar x-height and contrast each other while not competing.
color I choose red as the primary color. It's bold and dynamic just like Walsh's designs. It reflects power & grabs people's attention.
imagery I wanted to create a whimsical world within the pages of the book while still giving the reader a good picture of Walsh's life. To achieve this, I combined bright graphic illustrations and photography.
